Commonwealth Chess Association Partners with Paramount Chess for Chess Development Across Commonwealth Nations

Samarkand, Uzbekistan | 25 September 2026: The Commonwealth Chess Association (CCA) has entered into a partnership with M/s Paramount Chess, a brand of NS Craft India, as its equipment partner to support the development and promotion of chess across Commonwealth nations.
Under the partnership, Paramount Chess will provide chess equipment valued at $15,000 per year for the next two years, representing a total equipment support of $30,000 to the Commonwealth Chess Association for its chess development activities.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 46th Chess Olympiad by Mr. Nikhil Dhir, Owner of Paramount Chess, and Mr. G. Luxman Wijesuriya, General Secretary of the Commonwealth Chess Association.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening the availability of quality chess equipment for chess development programmes, tournaments and other activities undertaken by the Commonwealth Chess Association across its member nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Commonwealth Chess Association Chairman Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan welcomed the partnership and expressed his appreciation for the support extended by Paramount Chess.
“We are pleased to welcome Paramount Chess as an equipment partner of the Commonwealth Chess Association. Access to appropriate chess equipment is an important part of developing the game, particularly for grassroots programmes, schools, academies and chess initiatives in different Commonwealth nations. This partnership will enable the Association to provide meaningful support to chess development activities on a sustained basis,” Chauhan said.
He added, “The annual equipment support of $15,000 for the next two years will help us strengthen our development initiatives and extend assistance to chess programmes where equipment is required. We appreciate the commitment of Paramount Chess and NS Craft India towards supporting the growth of chess.”
The equipment provided under the partnership will be utilised by the Commonwealth Chess Association for chess development initiatives, including programmes and activities aimed at encouraging wider participation in chess and supporting players, coaches, organisers and chess communities.
The partnership forms part of the CCA’s continuing efforts to build stronger support systems for chess development across its member nations. Along with organising and supporting championships and other competitions, the Association seeks to encourage initiatives that contribute to the growth of chess at different levels.
M/s Paramount Chess, a brand of NS Craft India, is engaged in the manufacture and supply of chess equipment. Through this partnership, the company will support the Commonwealth Chess Association’s development initiatives through the annual provision of chess equipment for the two-year period covered by the MoU.
The Commonwealth Chess Association expressed its appreciation to Mr. Nikhil Dhir and Paramount Chess for their commitment to supporting chess development and for joining the Association as an equipment partner.
The CCA believes that partnerships with organisations committed to the development of chess can play an important role in creating better opportunities for players, organisers, coaches, schools and chess communities across the Commonwealth.
